Press Release Attention: Calendar Event Editors Progidy Fabricator Ray Neff, 19, To Exhibit At Motoexpo San Diego Del Mar, CA, June 23, 2007 ---- Nineteen year-old Ray Neff, a third generation fabricator whose father and grandfather are considered legendary custom car fabricators, has agreed to exhibit his custom bike – one that’s been the subject of television’s “Metric Revolution” – at MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO. The announcement was made this week by David Arnold, show director for the first annual MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO, a remarkable assemblage of one of a kind, handcrafted motorcycles, along with a juried show of customized sports and street cruisers, that roars into the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7. “Ray Neff is certainly following in the footsteps of his dad and granddad, two well known national custom car builders, “ says Arnold. “It’s amazing to me that this young man would have such an outrageous aesthetic and engineering sense to have created such a radical bike, especially since he hadn’t ridden a street bike before building this one.” According to family sources, “Lil’ Ray,” as he is known, began as a welding and fabrication apprenticeship when he was only four-years-old, under the watchful eyes of his dad and granddad. It was this first-hand experience that primed him to be selected to compete in the rookie class of television’s “Metric Revolution,” a 12-week, reality television show that focused on the custom bike building talents of 22 builders selected from a field of several thousand applicants. Since then, Lil’ Ray has been the subject of national and international news coverage, including appearances on Latin American television. The two-day event also includes a dazzling array of vintage motorcycles and MOTOMASTERS – an invitation only, beyond-the-jury collection of priceless, one-of-a-kind handcrafted motorcycles that epitomize the highest achievement in aesthetics and engineering. Press Release For More Information: Chica Custom Cycles To Exhibit At MotoExpo San Diego Del Mar, CA, September 14, 2007 — The enigmatic Chica, whose customized Harley-Davidson’s two decades ago earned him near-cult status in his native Japan, will be exhibiting at MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO that roars into the Del Mar Fairgrounds October 6 and 7, according to David Arnold, show director. The two-day juried show of customized sports and street cruisers will also feature an assemblage of one-of-a-kind, handcrafted motorcycles in a special display called MOTOMASTERS. “While the rest of us riders were remaining loyal to H-D, back in the 80’s, Chica was taking old Harley’s and customizing them into outrageous bikes for a growing market of Japanese enthusiasts,” recalls Arnold. “When Chica left Japan for Southern California, though, he brought with him a highly refined Oriental design aesthetic which manifests itself in his personal interpretation of American motorcycles.” Located in Huntington Beach, Chica’s Website says that he specializes “in the old style of today – old school look, using today’s technology.” The site also identifies Chica as having achieved a reputation as “one of the nation’s top custom bike builders.” Complete customs from Chica Custom Cycles start at $45,000. “There’s no question about the extraordinary design range he has executed while in interpreting the old school, making it contemporary and relevant at the same time,” says Arnold. “His Ace bike exhibits a menacing profile – hostile and aggressive – while his Chica’s Digger is lithe, graceful and fluid.” Chica, along with customer builder Roland Sands and the Confederate Motor Company – displaying their B120 Wraith and its Hellcat, are early entrants in MOTOMASTERS, an invitation only, beyond-the-jury collection of priceless, one-of-a-kind handcrafted motorcycles that epitomize the highest achievement in aesthetics and engineering. Press Release For More Information: Del Mar, CA, September 27, 2007 — Once respected as the fastest production motorcycle in world, the Vincent suffered a slow death in the 1950’s only to come back recently as a strikingly contemporary re-iteration where it can be seen at MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO that roars into the Del Mar Fairgrounds next Saturday and Sunday (October 6 and 7). David Arnold, show director for the first annual MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO, who made the announcement this week, said two prototypes of the iconic Vincent motorcycle will be on display. The juried show of customized sports and street cruisers will also feature an assemblage of one of a kind, handcrafted motorcycles in a special display called MOTOMASTERS. “We are honored that Rancho Santa Fe entrepreneur and rider, Bernardo Li, who is bringing back the Vincent, would agree to showcase these awesome motorcycles at our show,” said Arnold. “The motorcycle world owes Mr. Li and his organization a ‘thumbs up’ for not only making the investment in bringing back the Vincent and creating these two prototypes but for interpreting the bike’s pedigree and turning it into a sleek, dynamic machine – heavy on the horse power but lithe in handling.” According to well-documented media reports, The Vincent Black Lightning hurtled over the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in 1949, pegging the needle at 151.131 miles per hour, and setting a land speed record for a production motorcycle that would remain unbeatable 20 years beyond the company’s closing in the mid-1950s. The original Vincents, according to Arnold, were made in England and were born of speed. The original builder, Howard Raymond Davies, was committed to building a radical new bike. He did. And it reached 66 mph in 1926. Shortly thereafter, Philip Vincent, also a Brit, bought the company and, in 1949, launched the Vincent in the United States. According to Arnold, the two Vincent prototypes are among other exciting displays and activities taking place Saturday and Sunday at MOTOEXPO SAN DIEGO. The two-day event also includes a dazzling array of vintage motorcycles and MOTOMASTERS – an invitation only, beyond-the-jury collection of priceless, one-of-a-kind handcrafted motorcycles that epitomize the highest achievement in aesthetics and engineering. Among those exhibiting are Christian Dotson and his award-winning bike that won the coveted “America’s Most Beautiful Motorcycle award” at this year’s Los Angeles Roadster Show in Pomona, the irrepressible Roland Sands, the enigmatic Chica, and making a rare appearance will be two bikes from Confederate Motor Company – the B-120 Wraith and Hellcat.
